What are the ABCs?
Do you sometimes struggle with talking with patients about their serious illness? Want to be a more skillful communicator? We have a free education program for you, called the ABCs. Being offered now for a limited time as a research study.
All providers, Better Communication skills (ABCs) is a virtual education program that builds skill and strategies for listening to, talking with and supporting seriously ill patients and their loved ones. This program is only being offered as part of a research project.

Who is this for?
This program is for any health care provider from any discipline, who practices in any care setting in Canada, and is willing to complete the whole program.

Time commitment
The total time commitment (including enrollment activities) for the ABCs program is about 12 hours. This includes:

7 e-learning modules done at your own pace and 3 interactive practice workshops with simulated patients (1 hour each) beginning in either Spring 2025 or Fall 2025

3 virtual individualized simulated patient encounters (15 minutes each)

3 online surveys (20 minutes each)
